Children's Ministry Training Equips Local Leaders
The Chesapeake Conference recently hosted a children's ministry training at the Ellicott City (Md.) Church, equipping local ministry leaders to teach to different learning styles of children. Thirty people from eleven churches registered and received training by Robin Galgon, a team member of the Children's Ministry department at the North American Division (NAD) in Columbia, Md. Galgon informed attendees about how to shape lessons to keep children engaged. Participants also had the opportunity to learn different fun interactive activities and experiments using simple materials such as light bulbs, salt, balloons and more, to keep the attention of a young class. Each activity was paired with a Bible lesson for children to learn and remember. This training is the second of several of its kind to be offered this year in various locations throughout the conference.
